Description<\/strong>: The are several aspects of Carter<\/em> (2022) that make it stand out from other entries in contemporary action cinema. Most notably it features a monumental 80% ASD ratio. The film also heightens the sense of peril by staging action sequences in hyper-dangerous contexts be it Carter, the protagonist, fighting off hordes of adversaries, engaging in battle during multi-vehicle pursuits, or fighting and rescuing while in freefall. Carter<\/em> also takes the transfer scenario to a higher level given the frequency it appears in the film and the dangerous contexts in which it is executed. During a mission to convey Ha-na, a young girl immune from a horrific virus, to a facility in North Korea to develop a vaccine, she is abducted by CIA agents on a motorcycle [Figure 1]. Carter then kicks at another passing agent who crashes into a wall causing another motorcycle to flip over it. Carter absconds on the motorcycle to retrieve Ha-na but a van driven by NIS\u00a0agents gets to Ha-na first and haul her into the vehicle while shooting at the motorcyclists [Figure 2]. Eventually, the two NIS\u00a0agents are killed by the pursuing CIA agents allowing an agent on a motorcycle to transfer into the van to capture Ha-na again. Carter uses a sliding motorcycle as a means to enter the van and commences to fight with the agent. From then on Carter contends as multiple agents continue to transfer into the van when two SUVs place themselves on both sides of the vehicle. Carter continues to fight off the agents inside the van but also moves the battle inside both the SUVs as all three vehicles speed in parallel. Eventually, Ha-na is nabbed by an agent and is transferred to the left-side SUV and then transferred onto a motorcycle driven by a CIA agent [Figure 3]. This motivates Carter to transfer onto the van from the right-side SUV and kicks off an agent in the left-side SUV to the road below [Figure 4]. The pursuit morphs into a pure motorcycle chase after a multi-vehicle collision takes out the SUVs. For the last transfer effort, Carter clambers over a packed group of motorcycles to make his way to the lead motorcycle where Ha-na is aboard. Carter leaps onto the motorcycle, kills the CIA agent steering it, and veers off while the packed group crash and explode down a set of stairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
