The sequence is bookended by action of the aerial variety, and staged on the y-axis, commencing with U.S. Navy frogmen parachuting to intercept Largo&#8217;s transfer of a nuclear bomb, and ending with Bond and Domino who are transferred from a raft to an overhead aircraft [Figure 1 and 2]. The sequence itself is also notable for formalizing the convention in the franchise by bringing a film to a close with a major battle [Figure 3], a convention already manifested in <em>Goldfinger<\/em> (1964) and reappears in <em>You Only Live Twice<\/em> (1967).
